South Carolina Boeing Workers to Vote on IAM Representation

Boeing workers who build the 787 Dreamliner in North Charleston, SC will have the chance to vote to join the IAM.

The IAM filed a petition on January 20, with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to hold a secret-ballot union election for approximately 2,850 production employees at the Boeing Co. in North Charleston, S.C.

DL 142 2017 Scholarship Competition

Brothers and Sisters,

The following is a basic format for the year 2017 District #142 Scholarship Program and is intended for the guidance of all members and legal children of members who may be eligible to participate in the competition.

The Association Mechanic & Related/Stores Negotiating Committee met with American Airlines the week of January 23, 2017.  During this week’s session, the Committee exchanged and discussed the following Articles:

Limited Duty- M&R, MLS, MTS and MCT – We have reached a tentative agreement on this Article, which provides enhanced protections for our members.

DL 141 Fleet Negotiations Update January 27th, 2017

Brothers and Sisters:

The Association Fleet Negotiating Committee met with the company during the week of January 23, 2017.

This week the Association worked on the following proposals:

Reduction in Force – The proposal was passed from the Union to the Company.  After much dialog, we are now awaiting the company’s response.

Limited Duty – We reached a tentative agreement on this article.

Vacations-  We had table conversation and are awaiting a response from the company.

Hours of Work– The company passed the article to the Union and we are working on our response.

DL 141 2017 Adolph Stutz Memorial Scholarship Awards Open For Applicants

District 141 envisions a future in which work and all people who work are valued, respected and rewarded. Education is a part of the journey towards that future.

In 2017, District 141 will once again sponsor the Adolph Stutz Memorial Scholarship, rewarding District 141 Members or family eligibles with an annual cash prize of $2000 for first place, and second place prizes of $1000 each.

The Association Fleet Negotiating Committee met with the company during the week of January 16th in Dallas/Fort Worth.

This week the Association received the following counter proposals:

Reduction in Force – there are substantial issues that need to be resolved prior to achieving an agreement.

Voluntary Furlough – the remaining outstanding issues were resolved.

Limited Duty – we realize the importance of this article and are committed to enhancing the language to protect the membership.

One Station Complex (TWU) – this article is contingent upon other articles being negotiated and those talks continue.
