As of today, the amended Tentative Agreement has been shipped to all bases for everyone to receive a copy so check with your Steward or Committee member to receive and sign for your copy. It is also posted on the District Lodge 142 website which can be found at

American Derails Negotiations

In this period between scheduled negotiating sessions, the Association leadership met with American Airlines management principals in the hope of better understanding each other’s position on the outstanding issues that need to be resolved in order to conclude negotiations.  Significant issues, including wages, job scope protection, pensions and medical benefits remain open.

Alaska Airlines Negotiations Update – March 16th 2018

The joint Alaska Airlines Negotiating Committee continued negotiations with Alaska Airlines management March 13-15, 2018, in Newark, New Jersey.

Represented by the Company were: Greg Mays, Vice President/Labor; Wayne Newton, Vice President/AOCS; Jeff Butler, Vice President/Inflight & Call Centers; Bob Hartnett, Labor Director; Denise Kliskey, COPS Labor Manager; Melinda Mayor, Division Controller; and, Rebecca Meissner, Company Attorney.

Joining your Negotiating Committee were: James Carlson, Assistant Airline Coordinator; and, Kris Hannah, Grand Lodge Representative.

Your Committee made proposals for the COPS Agreement for the following articles:

The copies of the recently reached amended Tentative Agreement have been posted on the District Lodge 142 website which can be found at   Once there, you will find one shorter copy that contains just the changes to Article 10.H. (only) and Article 25 (All) and a second copy that contains the entire amended Tentative Agreement.

New Mayor of Harmony, NC, Daniel Lee Matney, is also a recent graduate of Guide Dogs of America!

Mr. Matley and his guide dog Merlin visited Local Lodge 1725 on Thursday March 8th, 2018, during the regular monthly business meeting to talk about his experience with GDA. We are honored that Mr. Matley and Merlin chose to speak to us and we are even more committed to GDA and their amazing programs.

In a recent conversation with several of our members, it became clear to me that when they were attending our monthly business meeting that they did not fully understand the process that we use to bring issues before the membership requiring their approval.

IAM PSA Airlines Second Tentative Agreement Reached

With the failed TA prior to the holidays, meetings began at the end of January under the auspices of the NMB.  They continued through February in to March with the last meeting occurring yesterday. I am pleased to announce that we have reached a 2nd Tentative Agreement based on the memberships proposals submitted in December and January. These most recent changes in this TA are as follows:


·   Additional 2% wage increase at DOS+48 months (5%-3%-3%-3%-2%). Top of scale pay at DOS+48 is now $30.08 ·   Total increase in CBA value over 48 months is almost $25

IAM Rally in Memphis to Commemorate 50th Anniversary of Death of Martin Luther King Jr.

Members of Local Lodge 1725,

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, the IAM will hold a rally and march in Memphis Tennessee to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. This rally and march are to celebrate his legacy as champion of not only social justice but as a champion of labor rights as well.
