Sisters and Brothers:

The joint Alaska Airlines Negotiating Committee continued negotiations with Alaska Airlines management August 14 -16, 2018, in Washington, D.C.  This session was dedicated to COPS contract issues.

Represented by the Company were: Greg Mays, Vice President/Labor; Wayne Newton, Vice President/AOCS; Jeff Butler, VP/Inflight & Call Centers; Bob Hartnett, Labor Director; Denise Kliskey, COPS Labor Manager; Melinda Maher, Division Controller;  and, Rebecca Meissner, Company Attorney.

Joining the Negotiating Committee were: James Carlson, Assistant Airline Coordinator; Kris Hannah, Grand Lodge Representative; and Brianna Gregory, Grand Lodge Representative.

The Committees exchanged proposals for the following articles:

In the past few weeks I have had meetings and phone conversations with members of the leadership teams from the Charlotte chapters of both the APA (Allied Pilots Association) and APFA (Association of Professional Flight Attendants). These meetings were very productive and illuminated many of the common issues our respective unions face in our dealings with American Airlines.

Several common themes emerged from these discussions. First, it is clear, that American Airlines does not single out any one group for disrespect or mistreatment. It treats all its labor groups with contempt.

Your negotiating committee met August 6-9, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri at the office of District Lodge 142.  Present were; Ian Scott-Anderman, DL142 Secretary Treasurer; General Chairs April Butler, Kenny Champagne, Carrie Lessley, and Jessica Morris; members Lollie Beecher, MSY; Teresa Beynon, PC; Charity Hamer, MDW; Sheri Parmann, FLL and Nancy Shortino, CC.

Work took place this week to prepare for discussions concerning Article Five (Classifications) and Article Seven (Overtime) during the next negotiation session.  Your continued support and solidarity are appreciated.

The Association Executive Negotiating Committee met with American Airlines this week in Washington, D.C. to continue the discussion about Scope proposals. Your Executive Committee presented the company with comprehensive proposals. The Association proposals are reasonable and recognize the sacrifices our members have collectively made through our company’s bankruptcies by securing our work into the future.

Our members deserve nothing less!

All of our responses to the company continue to fall on deaf ears!

Management continues to disrespect our members hard earned stake in this company by blatantly disregarding our attempts to come to fair and equitable

Donations of School Supplies and Open House for Renaissance West Steam Academy

Hello brothers & sisters,

Were just about two weeks from Open House for the children at  “Renaissance West STEAM Academy.” We are still looking for school supplies to fill the bags or a monetary donation can be made.

We’ll start filling bags the week of Aug 20th for any member interested in helping. I’ll have times for the week at Thursday’s Noon Business Meeting.
