Brothers and Sisters,

The TWU-IAM Association met with American Airlines October 30 in Dallas, TX for mediated negotiations under the supervision of the National Mediation Board. The purpose of this first mediated session was to bring the Federal mediators up to speed on the status of our negotiations.

Areas covered were compensation, healthcare, retirement, work protections (scope) and the remaining open language issues. The joint Alaska Airlines Negotiating Committee continued negotiations with Alaska Airlines management October 23-25, 2018,  in Seattle, Washington.  Both the COPS and RSSA agreements were discussed during this session.

Represented by the Company were: Wayne Newton, Vice President/AOCS; Jeff Butler, VP/Inflight and Call Centers; Jason Barry, Managing Director of Cargo; Bob Hartnett, Labor Director; Denise Kliskey, Labor Manager; Melinda Maher, Division Controller and Rebecca Meissner, Company Attorney.

Just a reminder candy or donations are still needed to fill bags for Renaissance West STEAM Academy, by Monday 10/29. Please feel free to drop off any donations to the Local by 3pm on Monday.
We will be filling bags on Monday afternoon after 3pm to take to the children on Tuesday afternoon by 3pm.

Southwest Airlines Contract Negotiations Update – Oct 18th, 2018

On October 16-18, 2018 your negotiating committee met in Dallas, Texas Southwest Airlines Headquarters to continue negotiations.  The Company passed Article 6 (Hours of Service) and Article 7 (Overtime) in response to the Union’s pass at our last meeting September 18-20. We will resume talks next week, October 21-23, 2018. As talks are ongoing, we cannot share specifics. We appreciate your continued support.
