Southwest Airlines Contract Negotiations Update Week of September 17th

Negotiations resumed in Baltimore, MD. the week of September 17, 2018.  Present for the company were: Adam Carlisle Sr. Director, Labor Relations, Danielle Reidder, CS&S Regional Director; Dan Kusek, Sr. Mgr., Labor Relations for CSA;  Andrea Nivet, Sr. Mgr. Labor Relations for CS&S; Mandy Vitela, Asst. Stn. Mgr., DAL; Joel Bagby, Attorney, Gen. Counsel; Becky Ronnebaum, Labor Negotiations Specialist and Nicole Bender, Labor Relations Planning Specialist.

Present for the Union were: Bill Rody, Grand Lodge Representative; Ian Scott-Anderman DL142 Secretary Treasurer; General Chairs April Butler, Kenny Champagne and Jessica Morris; Negotiation Committee Members Lollie Beecher, MSY; Dennis DeFrank, SOS; Charity Hamer, MDW; Sheri Parman, FLL and Nancy Shortino, CC.

This week the Company briefly revisited Article Eleven (Filling of Vacancies), the Committee passed proposals for Articles Fifteen (Reduction in Force) and Seventeen (Safety and Health). The Union responded to the Company on Articles Sixteen (Severance Pay) and Seven (Overtime) emphasizing the Member’s concerns voiced through proposals and surveys regarding Mandatory Overtime and Rest Rule issues.  Your continued solidarity and support are appreciated through this process.

The next scheduled session is for October 16 – 18, 2018 in Dallas,Texas with future negotiation dates established through the first week of December.
