75th Anniversary Brunch and Recognition Ceremony

Sunday, June 10th, 2018 was the official 75th Anniversary of Victory Lodge 1725. The weeklong celebration culminated with a brunch at the DoubleTree in Charlotte. Our members were treated to a fantastic brunch menu (did someone say Bloody Mary’s).

75th Anniversary Committee member Mary Goettl spoke to us about the history of our lodge and welcomed Former Lodge Presidents Bob Bynum and Bill Wise who were in attendance. On Saturday, June 9th, 2018 members of our Local Lodge got together at the DoubleTree in Charlotte for a fun night of food, fellowship, music and yes, dancing. And yes, there are pictures to prove it!

Top Golf & Casino Night a Huge Success!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 Victory Lodge 1725 continued our week of celebrations of our 75th Anniversary with a night of golf competition, casino games, food, drink and fellowship at Top Golf in Charlotte. All proceeds from the night went to Guide Dogs of America.

Wednesday, April 4th, 2018  marked 50 years since the assassination of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
King was shot and killed while standing on a balcony outside the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. He had traveled there for a sanitation workers strike.

A commemorative ceremony marked it as a day of remembrance, celebration and looking back on King’s life and legacy. Among those who spoke was the Rev. Jesse Jackson, one of only two surviving members of King’s entourage on the day he was shot.

New Mayor of Harmony, NC, Daniel Lee Matney, is also a recent graduate of Guide Dogs of America!

Mr. Matley and his guide dog Merlin visited Local Lodge 1725 on Thursday March 8th, 2018, during the regular monthly business meeting to talk about his experience with GDA. We are honored that Mr. Matley and Merlin chose to speak to us and we are even more committed to GDA and their amazing programs.

IAM Rally in Memphis to Commemorate 50th Anniversary of Death of Martin Luther King Jr.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, the IAM will hold a rally and march in Memphis Tennessee to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. This rally and march are to celebrate his legacy as champion of not only social justice but as a champion of labor rights as well.
