The TWU-IAM Association was notified this week that the National Mediation Board has assigned two mediators to our negotiations. The mediators have indicated that, due to Federal budget concerns and scheduling, they will not schedule mediated negotiating sessions until after October.
The Association has demanded to meet with American with or without the mediators and as soon as possible. American has refused to meet. All indications are that American wants to drag our negotiations out as long as possible.

The joint Alaska Airlines Negotiating Committee continued negotiations with Alaska Airlines management September 11-13, 2018, in Seattle, Washington. It was agreed that whole sessions would no longer be dedicated to either the COPS or RSSA groups, respectively, and as such, both agreements would and could be discussed.
Represented by the Company were: Wayne Newton, Vice President/AOCS; Bob Hartnett, Labor Director; Denise Kliskey, COPS Labor Manager; Melinda Maher, Division Controller; and, Rebecca Meissner, Company Attorney.
