In a recent article published on, it was reported that six of American Airlines’ top executives recently purchased over $3 million in company stock, almost half of which was bought by CEO Doug Parker. These six executives now own over $129 million in American stock. After the news of their purchases was announced, the stock surged about 12% making them $300,000 on the stock they just bought and $15 million on the stock they already own.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is calling out top executives at American Airlines with a new ad in the Wall Street Journal.

Here’s the text of the full-page ad:

“American Airlines stock has dropped to near-record lows under the leadership of CEO Doug Parker and President Robert Isom.

Now, analysts predict AA stock value could drop even lower because Parker and Isom have abandoned the bargaining table and instead have chosen a path which may lead to a lawful strike under the Railway Labor Act.

Southwest Airlines Contract Negotiations Update – June 10, 2019

The Union and the Company met the week of June 3, 2019 in Dallas, Texas to continue our contract negotiations.

Topics of discussion were Articles 5, 7 and 11. There are opposing viewpoints regarding Article 7, regarding the use of mandatory overtime (MOT). Your committee is resolute in delivering a contract that insures we, as members of the IAM and employees of SWA, enjoy a quality of life deserving of working women and men.

Negotiations will continue June 18 – 20, 2019.
