Alaska Airlines Ratification Update

Ratification for the Alaska COPS and RSSA Agreements took place July 8 through August 9, 2019.

Both agreements PASSED by over 90% of the respective members that voted.

The newly approved tentative agreements provide for 10-16% pay increases on average, increase in 401k contributions, work protection for the life of the Agreements plus 2 years (7years in total), decreased health insurance premiums, and much more. Association, American Meet with NMB

The National Mediation Board (NMB) held separate meetings with TWU/IAM Association Leadership (first) and American Management (later) on Thursday in Washington D.C. The purpose of the meetings was for the three NMB Board Members to discuss the status of our negotiations with both parties. The Federal Mediators who attended our earlier negotiations were also present.

District 141 is proud to announce the winners of the 2019 Adolph Stutz Memorial Scholarships. Skye Balfour, daughter of United Airlines CSR Julie Balfour, a member of Detroit Air Transport Local 141 earned the top $2,000 prize.

The topic for this year’s scholarship competition was “How can our Local Lodges better serve our communities?” Skye wrote a poignant essay narrating how her adoption by the Balfour family when she was just three months old changed her life.
