Earlier in November, we posted the link for our members to participate in the survey on the failed tentative agreement. We plan on leaving the survey open through the end of December, but we want to ensure ALL our members have the opportunity to submit their opinions so we can be fully prepared to re-enter negotiations.

IAM/PSA Airlines 2021 Negotiations Update – Nov 24th

Negotiations resumed this week in DAY on Monday and continued into Tuesday. Present for the Company were Counsel Steven Nigh, HR Dir Jeremy Gorges, DOM Steve Albaugh, HR Mgr. Hogan Kindrick and CLT Mgr. Rob Cox. Present for the Union were myself, GLR John Werkmeister, Todd Road-CAK, Greg Farmer-DAY, Scott Carpenter-CVG, and Ian Cole-CLT.

Southwest Airlines Survey Issue

We have been advised some members are having problems with the survey. If you attempt to complete the survey on your phone, and you are using an android phone, there is a problem in selecting your station. If you have this problem, here is the work around. The work around is to select the 3 dots in the top right corner, drop down to and select “desktop site.”

Following these steps will allow you to complete the survey on your android phone.

Southwest Airlines Failed TA Survey

As was previously communicated on November 5th, alongside the ratification results, your Union created a survey to get your feedback on why the Tentative Agreement failed.

Contained within the survey are many of the reasons we heard during the ratification meetings, and also provided a space for you to enter any additional reason(s) not already mentioned. American Airlines Vaccine Mandate Update

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

The Association conducted a follow-up call today with American Airlines regarding the vaccine mandate.  The Company continues to work through the religious and medical accommodations submitted by the membership. Two items that we were informed of today include those members who have had Covid-19 recently and how they should handle being accommodated since they cannot get the vaccination at this time. Those members should put in for a medical exemption and request for a Covid-19 vaccine deferral until such time they can get vaccinated. Negotiations began this week in DAY with an opening day with a packed room. Present for the Company were representatives from HR, Finance and Maintenance groups led by VP of HR Margaret Soda, VP of Maintenance Mark Swearingen and PSA Chief Counsel and Lead Negotiator Steven Nigh. AA Vaccine Mandate Update

Today the Association leadership meet via conference call with American Airlines leaders for an update on the Vaccine Mandate Policy and the potential enforcement process. The company explained the accommodation procedures, as it is currently being considered by the carrier, and is urging employees to file requests for such accommodations. The company will actively engage in processing and approving the requests on an individual basis in a reasonable manner. As was previously announced in the last bulletin, the opening day of negotiations had been set for October 7th and to occur in DAY. Due to a scheduling conflict that arose for the maintenance leadership team that is unavoidable, the opening day for negotiations has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Tuesday, October 19th and still occur in DAY. At this meeting the Union and Company will opening negotiations and share initial proposals generated by the IAM membership at PSA Airlines.
