Negotiations continued the week of November 11, 2019 in Washington DC.
This week of negotiations focused on Article 7, Mandatory Overtime. The dialogue centered on the need to eliminate the use of Mandatory Overtime and various ways to secure a contract that addresses our members’ desire for a better quality of life.
Prior to recessing negotiations, your committee passed a comprehensive proposal that will ensure our Sisters and Brothers enjoy a quality of life deserving of all employees. Additionally, the comprehensive proposal includes economic provisions recognizing your contributions to the success of Southwest Airlines and that would ensure wage increases effective December 1, 2019.
Due to scheduling challenges, the Union and Company are looking to resume talks in January 2020. Your Committee thanks all our Sisters and Brothers for their continued solidarity and support.
