Ryan, Simmons Named Transportation Department Special Representatives

General Vice President Sito Pantoja is proud to announce the appointment of Sean Ryan and Gil Simmons as the Transportation Department’s newest Special Representatives. 

Sean Ryan initiated into IAM Local Lodge 2444 in April 1985 when he was hired by Piedmont Airlines in Norfolk VA. He served as Grievance Committee Chairman from 1990-2008. In 1995, he was appointed and later elected as the first and only president of the newly chartered Local Lodge 2914 where he served in that capacity until 2008 when he was appointed and later elected to his current position of General Chair for District 142. Prior to that, he served as District 142 Educator for 3 years. 

Gil Simmons was hired by US Air in 1985 into IAM Local Lodge 1776. In 2007, he became a Committeeman in Philadelphia, and in 2008 became a Committee Chair. In 2010, he was voted to the position of VP at Large at District Lodge 141. Simmons currently holds the position of Airline Coordinator East with the Pennsylvania State Council. He is also currently a Trustee for the New Jersey State Council and an IAM delegate to the AFL-CIO.

Brothers Ryan and Simmons will assume their new roles on January 1, 2020.
