Victory Lodge 1725 would like to congratulate Cathy White on her retirement!

Cathy worked as a Material Planner for American Airlines in CLT Base Maintenance.

Cathy, thank you for your years of service and we hope you relax and enjoy your retirement. The doors of our lodge are always open for you and we hope you will come back and visit us sometime.

Victory Lodge 1725 Loses Three Members in two weeks.

Victory Lodge 1725 is sad to announce the recent passing of three of our members: David Biles on June 12, and Vincent “Vinnie” Aufiero and Ronald “Ozzy” Osborne on June 26.

All of us would like to take some time today to remember and reflect on our friends and their families.

We will post separate arrangements for these members as we receive them.

The entire District 142 staff is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our General Chairs, Randy Griffith.  Randy passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 while at home in Mesa, Arizona.  Randy had been a General Chair for the District since 2010 and serviced most of the western stations at American Airlines.  He also negotiated the mechanic and related contract at Hawaiian Airlines, Swissport Services in Phoenix and Las Vegas and the Jetstream Services agreement in Phoenix.  Prior to coming on the District staff, he was an Avionics Technician at US Airways (previously America West) … Read More...

Southwest Airlines Contract Negotiations Update – June 24, 2019

On June 18 – 20, 2019, your Committee met with the Company in Dallas, Texas at Southwest Airlines Headquarters to continue contract negotiations.  This week an Agreement in Principle was reached for Letter of Understanding with Temporary Assignment Guidelines-Customer Service Agents.  The Company responded with Article Eleven (Filling of Vacancies) which prompted constructive discussions with regards to this Article as well as Articles Five (Classification), Six (Hours of Service), Seven (Overtime) and Ten (Part-Time Employees).

The IAM has previously advised you of a Federal Court Order issued on June 14, 2019 requiring the IAM, the TWU, the IAM-TWU Association, the local unions that represent employees at American Airlines, and their members, to resume normal working schedules and practices.

The Order requires that no employee shall engage in any concerted refusal to perform normal operations.

Alaska Airlines Announcement

Sisters and Brothers:

Your Negotiating Committee is pleased to announce a Tentative Agreement (TA) has been reached with Alaska Airlines for the COPS and RSSA agreements, respectively.

The TA provides many changes, some of which include:

  • 5 year Agreement with Work Protection.
    • All work currently performed exclusively by IAM members at each location on the Alaska Airlines’ system is protected, and the Company is prohibited from outsourcing such work for the entire term of the contract plus two years
  • 10%-16% increase on base wages on date of ratification
  • Downline increases that put both COPS and RSSA members

On June 14, 2019, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas issued a Temporary Restraining Order applicable to the Transport Workers Union Of America, AFL-CIO, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, and the Airlines Mechanic and Related Employee Association, TWU/IAM, and to all employees represented by the Association, the IAM or the TWU at American Airlines.  A copy of that Order is attached.
